Workshop with Jordan Customs on the Benefits of Pre-Arrival Processing and Risk Management

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the German Alliance for Trade Facilitation through the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH jointly shared experiences from projects in Sri Lanka and Cambodia with Jordan Customs.

In a collaborative exchange the GIZ and UNCTAD gave insights into best practices from the projects ‘Digitising Global Maritime Trade’ (DGMT) and ‘Digitizing Global Trade’ (DGT) and the ASYHUB[1] solution which is piloted in Sri Lanka and Cambodia. Pre-arrival processing and risk management are relevant components in both projects. Jordan Customs expressed a wide interest in these topics.

Sri Lanka Customs joined the meeting digitally and shared their experience from the ongoing pilot with Jordan Customs. They confirmed the success and practical relevance.

Representatives from TradeLens, UPS and DHL also joined the discussion to provide the perspective from the global private sector.
