The project preparations for the new “Alliance for Trade Facilitation” project in Thailand have taken a clear shape. The Alliance saw the highest potential for a successful project in the topic “Customs Valuation” and will work together with the Thai Customs Department in this field.
The joint project is now in an inception phase where activities are prepared, and the project scope and objectives are being finalized in regular virtual exchange meetings with Thai Customs. The Alliance has formed a project team consisting of GIZ project managers from Germany and Thailand as well as international experts for customs valuation. Private sector representatives will continue to be consulted as a sounding board with the objective to feed back their views and experience into the project design.
