Meeting of the Alliance Steering Committee in Berlin

Where should the Alliance be in 2022? In Berlin, the members of the steering committee developed proposals for the Alliance’s new vision and strategy.

On February 1, 2019, the steering committee of the German Alliance for Trade Facilitation met in Berlin in preparation for the fifth working meeting on March 14, 2019 at Drägerwerk AG & Co. KGaA. The members of the steering committee worked together on the further formulation of the Alliance’s vision 2022. In addition, they reviewed the proposals for new project countries in 2019 submitted so far in the Alliance’s idea contest.

After proposals on the content of the vision had already been developed by all partners at the fourth working meeting in September 2018, further coordination and structuring of the content now followed. On the basis of an initial draft by the Alliance’s secretariat, the partners discussed the individual elements in small groups and then compiled their proposed changes in plenary.

The secretariat will now incorporate these results into a new draft and put it to the vote at the next working meeting. There, the partners will also decide in which countries the Alliance should examine the possibilities for a new trade facilitation project in 2019.
