The use of the German Alliance for Trade Facilitation’s website is generally possible without disclosing personal information. On this website, personal data is collected to the technically required extent only when you register for the newsletter mailing list. In no case will personal data be sold or for other reasons disclosed to third parties. Postal and e-mail addresses provided in the context of inquiries are used exclusively for correspondence.
Contact Form
When using the contact form, surname, first name and e-mail address are processed. The processing is based on Art. 6 paragraph 1 b) of the EU GDPR for the purpose of receiving the query formulated in the contact form. A transmission of the data to third parties does not take place. The transmission to the GIZ is carried out by means of an SSL-encrypted connection, so that unauthorized accesses become substantially more difficult. Just as requests addressed to GIZ by e-mail, inquiries are deleted via the contact form after completion.
There is no transfer of data to third parties.
Newsletter
Our free newsletter informs you via about news and events via e-mail. Your personal data is solely used for personalizing the newsletter and is not processed to third parties. You can revoke your consent to the sending of the newsletter at any time and unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can unsubscribe by clicking on the link provided in each newsletter e-mail or by sending an e-mail to tradefacilitation@giz.de. Your data will be deleted within one week after the end of your subscription, so far is no legal obligation to retain such data. By submitting your data you agree to the processing of your data and confirm our privacy statement.
To register for our newsletter, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after you have registered, we will send an e-mail to your specified address in which we ask you to confirm your wish to receive the newsletter. After your confirmation, we will save your e-mail address for the purpose of sending you the newsletter. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 paragraph 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.
In addition, we store your IP addresses and times of registration and confirmation. The purpose of this procedure is to prove your registration and, if necessary, to inform you about possible misuse of your personal data. You can revoke your consent to the sending of the newsletter at any time and unsubscribe from the newsletter. There is no transfer to third parties. Processing and use of your data for purposes of consulting, advertising and market research does not take place. If the subscription is terminated, all your personal data will be deleted from our database. Postal addresses and e-mail addresses provided in the context of inquiries or requests for information material are used exclusively for correspondence or shipping.
Use of Matomo
This website uses Matomo to analyze user behavior. In the process, information on user behavior on this web service is collected via cookies, including the IP address of the requesting computer in shortened form, and transferred to the server. The data is stored in anonymized form for the purpose of usage analysis. With current technology, an attribution to the requesting computer or connection is not possible after anonymization. The information produced by the cookie are only processed to the internally operated server. There is no transfer of data to third parties. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 paragraph 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR with the legitimate interest of improving the web service.
